PRIVACY POLICY FOR THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA REQUIRED TO USE THE CERTIFICATION SYSTEM

Why do we process your data?
Dear user, Wase DivEducation, as the "data controller," determines the purposes, criteria, and access levels to the areas and documents published on the certification system. Wase DivEducation's certifications are recognized worldwide and meet the highest international standards. Therefore, the processing of your personal data is essential to ensure that, wherever you are, you can demonstrate your certification and related qualifications.

What type of data do we process?
The certification system processes your personal details and other personal data (email, phone number, etc.), username and password for access, as well as logs of the operations performed. The logs will not be disclosed to parties unrelated to their processing.

Who processes the personal data?
The personal data stored in the certification system are processed by "appointed" staff of the certifications office. Wase DivEducation instructors are "authorized" to process them only for the purpose of issuing certifications upon completion of the relevant course.

Where are your data stored?
Your data are stored in data centers located in Italy and managed by Register S.p.A., which uses the best and most recent technologies for their protection.

Who authorizes the processing of your personal data?
Wase DivEducation is authorized to process your data under specific regulations. These are the so-called legal bases summarized in the regulatory framework outlined below: Art. 6(1)(e) GDPR, Art. 9(2)(b), and Art. 2-ter of Legislative Decree 196/2003 – 2-sexies, 2-septies, and 2-octies, as well as Law 150/2000.

To whom do we disclose your personal data?
In compliance with applicable laws, your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties or made public, except where required by the Code of Criminal Procedure.

How long will we retain your data?
For those holding a diving certification, to comply with the obligations mentioned in section 1 above, the data will be retained until death or, at most, until the age of 100. Once the retention obligation expires, your data will be physically deleted, except for the names of the instructors who issued the certifications.

We want to remind you of your privacy rights.
We remind you that Article 15 of the GDPR grants you the right to request and obtain access to your personal data processed for the purpose of using the certification system. If during this access you find that some of your personal data is irrelevant to the stated purpose, you may request rectification, deletion, or restriction of processing, or you may object to the processing itself. You can do this without formalities by contacting the Wase DivEducation certifications office. If you believe there has been any irregularity in the processing of your personal data, you may contact the Data Protection Officer. Furthermore, if you believe there has been a violation of the GDPR or related privacy laws, you may file a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali) at www.garanteprivacy.it.
